Short descriptions of the persons involved in keeping this web site up and running. In alphabetical order:
Petra Brussee: Programme Assistant , Resource Centre Development
Petra joined IRC in September 2003 as a Programme Assistant for the Resource Centre Development section. Her previous experience is within the Netherlands Management Cooperation Programme where she coordinated consultancy missions of senior advisers. For a year she was involved in different projects regarding the protection of children's rights within an NGO based in Honduras. She obtained a BSc degree in Cultural and Social Education.
Ingeborg Krukkert: Information Specialist, Information and Communication
Information specialist involved in activities related to information and communication technology and information management, including the co-ordination of an enquiry service, and the InterWATER guide to organisations. Current work also focuses on WASH in schools. MA in Anthropology and training in information technology. Before joining IRC, contributed to the collection and publication of best practice in indigenous knowledge and compiling information into directories.
Annemarieke Mooijman: Consultant
Sanitary engineer (TU Delft) with many years of international work experience working for the Delegation of the European Union in Guyana, the United Nations - Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean and UNICEF. She is now an independent consultant working mainly on WASH in Schools issues. Among others, she wrote the Toolkit on Hygiene, Sanitation and Water in Schools for the World Bank, WSP and UNICEF and a IRC/UNICEF publication on Child-friendly Sanitation and Hygiene Facilities in Schools. Recently, she undertook consultancies for, among others, the World Bank, IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre, Plan West Africa Regional Office and UNICEF-Bolivia.
Marielle Snel: Programme Officer, Knowledge Development and Advocacy
Co-ordinating efforts in school sanitation and hygiene education plus action research on alternative strategies on environmental sanitation and waste management.
Her background is as an Urban and Regional Planner with an emphasis on interdisciplinary work especially in the social sciences. She is currently specialised in the water and sanitation sector with a specific focus on WASH in schools. Has taught numerous sessions to MSc students, including community participation, community management, social marketing, non-government and community-based organisations and gender in rural and urban water and sanitation projects. Has also worked on distant learning modules related to community management.
