The thematic group was revived in June 2006 by UNICEF and IRC. Before that, many members were involved in the group, although it was not named as such. Think about the International symposium on SSHE in Delft, The Netherlands in June 2004, or the Oxford Roundtable meeting in the UK in January 2005. Many (current) members participated in these events and signed the statements that came out of these events.
